Fernando Report
Fernando is out of surgery and doing well. Keep him in prayer for a quick recovery and a safe trip home.
From Dan Witman: Urgent Prayer Needed
Friends,
I just got off the phone with my mother, Teresa. For the last few weeks she has had a lot of pain from a pinched nerve in her back. Combine that with the doctors, her heart problems, the prescription poisons, high blood pressure and a neighbor/friend that drives her up a wall and she is at the limit of what her body and mind can take.
Please pray for her. She needs healing in all areas of her spirit, mind and body. She is afraid to go to bed because she's afraid she might die and she doesn't want to die alone. Pray that the LORD comfort her and cradle her in his arms so that she can get much needed rest and be at peace. Please pray for healing and strengthening.
I appreciate all of you and thank you for your prayers.

Report on Fernando's Operation
Terry,
I just got all the information and results from the doctors, thank God everything came negative (there is no cancer on my esophagus nor in my stomach) a hiatal hernia was found, if the insurance company authorize the surgery on time this will take place on thursday morning at 7:00 am I should be hearing from the insurance broker this afternoon.
The surgery is laparoscopic anti-reflux (commonly reffered to as Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication) involves reinforcing the "valve" between the esophagus and the stomach by wrapping the upper portion of the stomach arround the lowest portion of the esophagus, which stops acid from backing up into the esophagus as easily. This allows the esophagus to heal.
The challenge I am facing today is that the insurance company will only cover the reflux surgery and not the hiatal herina (which will be fix in the same surgery) I have to pay that on the side to the doctor. and have a total cost of $1,300.00 (doctor and extra surgery materials). Also I have spend a lot of money in medications that are not covered by my insurance.
Thank God the doctor is a great surgeon and he is also a pastor and is giving me a good discount.
I will ask you to stand with us and pray with us for:
1) God's hands on the day of the surgery (Thursday at 7:00 am)
2) A fast recovery.
3) For God to provide the extra money ($1500.00) that the insurance company is not covering for the surgery and the money for medications that is also not part of the insurance coverage.
4) For a soon and safe return home (we don't want to be here any more)
Well, this is what is going on, we are trusting God for everything because at this moment we have no other way out and we know He is always there for us with His everlasting love.
As you see, this have not been easy but we trust God with everything that is with in us, and know that His name will be exalted and glorified at the end of this trial.
Love and miss you so much

Hello church,
Wednesday night we looked at 2 Cor. the 4th chapter.
In verse 16 it states: "Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Let us keep focused on the Spirit and things of the Spirit. If you can see it, touch it or feel it; it is temporary. Spending our days thinking about that which is temporary is a waste of our life. The word tells us to "seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Whatever you need will follow if your focus is on the one who created all things, Jesus Christ. Focus on Christ will put all cares and attacks of the evil-one into perspective. Focus on Christ will bring His joy and peace no matter what comes your way.
Rejoice in the Lord, life is really that simple, rejoice in the Lord. It is after all just a choice.
Be blessed.

Hello family,
Acts 2:42 gives us the four pillars of the church. "They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." The four foundations of Christian community are these:
1. Teaching from the Word of God
2. Fellowship that always includes testimony
3. The Lord's Supper/ Communion
4. Prayer
These four are to take place whenever we gather, whenever we eat. There is no fellowship for believers apart from fellowship with Jesus Christ.
Small Group Meetings will begin the first Wednesday in September. They start at 7:00 p.m. and finish at 8:30 p.m. Check the web site for a location near you.
Be blessed,
Pastors Terry & Phyllis
